The course is really good, location is very central Brighton and only 10 minutes from the beach. There has been a lot of student support but not lots of student union interation.

We have access to the textiles and fashion design facilities if need be but the practical elements are not needed in the course, therefore not included in the fashion comms rooms. There are several studios and cameras available to us.

Amazing location, 24 hour security, anywhere in Brighton is expensive. Management could be better, our sinks were blocked and it took a week for them to call a plumber.

The tutors are amazing, so sweet and caring they really look after you. The campuses are all really close to the uni (particularly if you’re doing an arts course) and they allow you to be completely free and independent. There’s a lot of free space to think and be outside and the facilities are great. They have a really decently priced cafe and access to computers and cheap printing. If I could change something, I think there should be an active student union on each campus. I didn’t hear a lot about it in my first year and still the same with second year - it could be so much better than it is. Also, I think the online resources for brighton aren’t great, they’re a bit confusing to navigate so I’d love to see that be updated in the future (My Brighton etc).

The course is amazing, they really cover all aspects and let you be what you want to be. The tutors are genuinely to thank for this and they provide a support network as well as great teaching and advice. I think sometimes it may be better to split up teaching time as sometimes students are confused or lose track if sessions run for 6 hours straight - for me I’d rather shorter sessions every day than twice a week at 6 hours each time - I lose concentration and momentum sometimes.

Brighton is incredible. I come from a small town in south wales so I have never really experienced anything other than that. The opportunities here are great and the people are all so lovely. It allows people to be themselves whoever you are and I’ve never felt more comfortable as a gay woman. It also helps coming to uni in such a beautiful city. They really look after it and there aren’t a lot of ‘bad’ areas.

I lived in Phoenix Halls for my first year of university and it was great. So sociable, the staff are lovely and helpful and the flats were clean and tidy. It seemed, although I’m unsure how, that most people were placed with like minded people or with people of similarities - this helped a lot. In terms of value for money, we have to expect it to be a little more expensive due to it being in the South but it is not too bad. The halls are more dated than some, but they still give you everything you need and to a high quality. If something isn’t right, they deal with it right away!
