Upon entering into the University of Sussex I was surprised at how many activities are available year round! If you have a good study plan and time to spare you will never get bored. These activities are really engaging and help you get a social life. Activities such as Crafts and draughts where you sit around a table and paint a glass beer, walking dogs and hiking are just a few of some of the things I have done around here. There are plenty of facilities available to support you during your studies. Easy access to lecturers through email, and they really do try to reply on the same day up to the second. Would appreciate rubrics for the assignments so that we understand the mark allocations on essays/dissertations etc.

Contact sessions are top-tier, and all materials are in abundance i.e, iPads per student for activities, equipment and materials during lab practicals are sufficient as well as the hours really give you time to study or work and do whatever you need (flexible). At first, I thought "how could I learn everything in 1 -2 hour lectures every day?" but the lessons have been planned out so well that you really do use your free time to study the content and understand it. Lecturers are always active on emails, not sure where all lecturers offices are, but the few I know are most necessary. All classes are contact as far as I know. It would only be online if there had been dire weather conditions.

It is not in a noisy area so you really can focus. Even if the students make noise you can anonymously report it and a security guard will mitigate the situation. Not many cameras especially in the kitchen when pots/food go missing, but pretty safe outside! people here are generally respectful of others not a lot of crime happens so one feels really comfortable. Went to a career fair and there are plenty of graduate programme opportunities just not for all courses, for instance, the Life Sciences department. Would appreciate more info on those kinds of opportunities and part-time work that gives us experience in the relevant field (if possible). Public transport is the best! can get anywhere without needing a car! Can be expensive and confusing to get better-discounted rides to further places, but local trips are capped at £2 per trip which makes a difference in the cost of living. Of course, prices are high. If citizens complain about the cost of living, how much more for foreigners with lower currencies? One really needs to budget accurately and understand the systems quickly so they can get better deals and prices. Brighton is a tourist attraction so prices are higher than other places around the country.

The newer accommodation (East Slope) is very modern and feels comfortable especially for foreign students (like myself). Although prices are pretty expensive for some of the facilities. The shower almost always gets blocked (even if you don't wash you hair; shave) and there aren't enough windows for fresh air by the stairs/corridors in the townhouses. Other than that, I know it is much better, aesthetically, than a lot of the other accommodation suites. About a 10 minute walk from most lecture halls so keeps your body activity up. Maintenance turn around times good be better. The weekly cleaning helps, but would have preferred for it to be everyday since it is only kitchen and bathrooms. Not everyone is neat and tidy so it really becomes a challenge when people don't look after themselves. But having meetings with flatmates helps with better living conditions
