I have really enjoyed my undergrad and postgraduate degrees at the University of Glasgow within the Geography department. I found that there is a flexibility with courses and the staff friendly and helpful. These courses have allowed me to meet great friends and find what I am actually interested as doing outside of university. Problems with the university course is it has a lot of group work but if you have a good group this isn’t a hardship. Additionally, there has been a few technology issues but the IT helpdesk can help with that. The help with courses such as maths or just writing essays and referencing is not clearly displayed but is available.

The course was intense and there is A LOT of work involved but I found the lecturers and other students extremely helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed this course and the cartography aspect was interesting as covered how maps have been made in the past and how they will be now and in the future. The programs taught in the course are especially relevant for after university. The course has set courses but you can change if you find another offered course more interesting. The classes are also small which allows for a more relaxed environment.

The university area is really nice and some areas are a bit more run down but I have felt safe at university for my degree. The parks around the university are great for a walk and in the summer are great to sit and enjoy the sun. When it comes. There are student deals with most of the restaurants around the uni. It also a quick subway ride to the city centre.
