University has been an all round great experience for me. I met a lot of new and interesting people as part of my course and while participating in extra-curricular activities. I have enjoyed my studies greatly and I can say that the course and the education that the university provided me with has broadened my horizons and it has developped my understanding in the field I am pursuing and I am planning to pursue a career at.

Best: There is such a lovely and diverse student body. I've met incredibly smart, creative, and empathetic people from all across the globe whilst studying here, and been taught by an incredibly knowledgable and passionate group of professors and seminar tutors that encourage students to question and think critically about the information we are presented with. Staff also support students in all of our endeavours by promoting events run by student organisations, encouraging us to attend professional events to ask our questions to people currently working in our industry, and meeting us with empathy and understanding when we express issues we are struggling with. Worst: The advising staff. I had a friend call advising and explain that, due to her ADHD (which is a legitimate disability that impacts time management and ability to function), she was struggling to make a course she was enrolled in, and would like to switch. She was met with incredibly ableist remarks, such as, "I'm not sure you would have the grades needed for us to change your elective course," before the advising employee she was speaking to even took the opportunity to look up my friend's grades and see that she is a straight A student. Another friend of mine who also has ADHD was met with a similar response in a similar situation. I personally was told by advising staff that it would be impossible for me to switch seminar sections in a subject I have been enrolled in for both semesters because the entire course was full, only to then find out that they were still accepting people who wanted to enroll on to the course, and on top of that, allowing them into the seminar section I had asked to switch into, as the timing of that seminar was easier for me to make as a commuter. It's incredibly frustrating and demeaning to be lied to and belittled by advising staff who seem to think that we students don't communicate and compare stories with each other.

Best: As I mentioned in my previous section, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and empathetic, and are more than happy to work with students to ensure that we understand all course content. They are passionate about their subject areas, and always entertain and encourage questions. They take us students seriously, which makes it easier to engage with the course content. Worst: The building my subject is taught in is crumbling. It has been an issue brought up by student representatives on multiple occasions. The elevator has broken down multiple times with students inside it, thus making the building largely inaccessible to students with mobility issues. The lecture theatres are missing desks, making it difficult to take notes. The disabled bathroom has also been out of order since August.
