I have had barely any time on campus this year but was lucky to have had at least a few lab sessions, my tutors have all been great and have had regular tutorial meetings. However, it wont be the same as in person and COVID has very much impacted university life this year

Last year was very unfortunate with COVID having only attended approx. 8 sessions face to face, am hoping for much better this year

Not really aware of things i need to be doing in prep to get a placement

My overall university experience so far has been great as I’ve been able to acquire the independence I’ve always wanted. Also, I have met many students alike which I have become friends with; and are yet to become friends with more.

The facilities within the university are good as I believe that the are up to date with the equipments e.g. lab equipments, computers, books, etc. Also, the uni has spent millions of pounds on the library for students to access, showing that it is good. Furthermore, new facilities are being built so that students are able to have access to a greater variety of buildings.

The support from the uni is great as they provide loads of services. They assign each student a personal tutor and a mentor in which they can ask questions if ever you have one. Also, they have a mental well-being support for students that are stressed during exam or just in general.

Our student unions in terms of student representation is quite good as I feel as if I’m able to be heard and make a change. However, the facility of the student union building I would say is quite small for thousands of students who would visit.

My university is situated near my accommodation which is useful as I don’t have to travel far and spend money on transport. Also, the shopping centre is a 5-10 minute walking distance from my hall which is great if ever I need any resources or food.

The variety of societies and sports within the university is great for extracurricular activities. They have abundance of clubs for students wanting to socialise and compete which is good for active students.

The most I like about my course is that there are also a lot of practical based learning, and not just theoretical based learning. This is so that we are able to better apply into real world situations. The least I like about my course is how some lecturers aren’t able to fully answer questions students would have, even though it’s their area of expertise.

The uni increases our employability by giving us real world experiences I.e placements year, volunteering opportunities, etc. Furthermore, students are able to book an appointment with a member of staff to check up on their CVs or just for general advice for jobs.
