the student support is fantastic. they’re quick to respond and the staff are so kind and patient. i do feel as though lecturers and academic advisors could be more student supportive as i’ve currently had no contact with my advisor and limited contact with my lecturers. something simple as a time where we could book to meet in the office. other than that staff are quite on it. we have mid module reviews which are taken seriously and every half term they take on our advice. such as no 9ams as silly as that is, it’s actually helped student attendance. the campus look is good. there’s always something new ie a painting or furniture. our labs are brand new and it’s really helped as our year is one of the largest. i do feel as thought the student union hasn’t made themselves known well to first years. no one has introduced themselves and it’s hard to find the offices without previous knowledge. first years are important to the uni and the union ought to hold a few more freshers events.

the labs are fantastic (as said earlier) the lecturers could do with being more student supportive. tutors do not have much contact with us and the lack of support from them is high. the support from student services does make up for it in many ways. we haven’t had much info regarding work and placement however there is modules dedicated to it in year 2.

Marsden is brilliant. yes it’s further out than city but in many ways that’s beneficial as i feel safer and it’s much calmer. the facilities are amamzing. we have a massive common room, study rooms, pool tables, ps3s and games available to us. it’s amazing value for money as it is one of the cheaper accommodations. the security team is super kind and the staff are always available to us when needed. i had a bad experience with my first roommates and when i raised my concerns, the staff found me a room straight away with much lovelier tenants. the move was easy and super quick. never been so grateful
