I am enjoying uni & my course but I do not want to end up in thousands of debt through student loans. I have received hardship funding already as well as a student loan.

The learning and teaching building is a nice space to be in between lectures, lots of good food options I love how green campus is you can forget you’re in the middle of a city if you know the right benches for lunch :) The gym is great, loads of classes Lecturers are passionate about what they teach The gym, library and learning and teaching buildings all need to be open more; the gym and library close early at the weekend and learning and teaching doesn’t open at all which makes studying more difficult We are often in the most random buildings for lectures, we have our own brand new SIPBS building but we never get to be in there There needs to be more mandatory career and next step classes, it’s easy to just push after uni thoughts to one side as it feels so far away and I think that’s quite dangerous

The labs are great, lots of technicians and PhD students there to help you Lectures are interesting although they sometimes are very long and difficult to keep up with There’s a good number of class tests to help you know where you’re knowledge is maybe lacking I dislike that we no longer get access to pre recorded lectures as I found them very useful We are often doing workshops on campus that I feel would work better over zoom It’s as if the university hasn’t taken the good parts of lockdown forward and have just reverted back to how they used to teach before which is a shame

Good location three minute walk to class and five minute walk to Aldi Large rooms, good condition Came with toaster, kettle, microwave and toasty maker so well kitted out I was on the ground floor which meant people did bang on my window sometimes The maintenance men were in quite a lot and often we didn’t get warning, I had a man trying to get into my locked room whilst I was taking an online exam even though I had said I was in and busy Good sized fridge and freezer
