Great University buildings and campus, and a good academic environment, I think that we should create an online platform for Distance learning students and a Research data centre so that students can obtain data quickly.

I am doing a research course, I interact with research supervisors and graduating school CPD mentors. In general good blending learning, but supervisors and mentors are overloaded and need help to better advice PhD Candidates

The campus in reading is really beautiful and all my lectures on my course have been helpful especially my tutor and supervisor for my third year research project. I have felt that UoR puts a lot of emphasis on support for students. when i was applying to postgraduate studies, I was able to make a careers appointment the same week and was able to talk about my application and personal statement. The same with my tutor, He offered to proof read my application through multiple drafts. Although the library is really new and very comfortable, it is sometimes hard to find seats or places to study. Additionally in my course , there are a lot of people and most of the time there are lectures but not seminars so it can be challenging to make friends. My friends in different courses have different experiences so it varies by course and is not a universal problem.

throughout year 1 and 2 there was a lot of online learning because of COVID but i dont think my quality of learning suffered, additionally, exams were online which was great because it actually helped us understand the material and write without the pressure of having to memorise or being under timed conditions. It really helped me dread exam season a lot less. This year all lectures are in person but are still recorded and put up on blackboard for you to revise which i find really helpful and a great system. anything i don't understand during the lecture, i can come back to after. This year, the timetabling of my lectures hasn't been great, I have 6 hours on one day and then only 3 hours the rest of the week which can be exhausting. this was not an issue previous years though.
