Amazing, my first year has been great with so many new experiences and new faces. I have never felt out of place, just had to seek discomfort and take the leap into new things, I don't regret any of it!

Very good, everything is available on campus that you could ever possibly need.

My tutor has been very helpful in explaining university life to me, as I am the first in my family to have gone to university. Feedback is given back within 4 weeks of submission deadlines. Haven't had to use the personal support but I know others that have and they have found it useful.

Best student's union by far, they're run by students, for students. They have managed to get free printing and the 24/7 library up in one year of my time being at Essex. They always take your ideas into account if you submit anything!

Not much, Colchester is the nearest large town. It is old, with a lot of new elements added to the diverse town.

Clubs and societies have been my favourite part of my first year, there is always something going on and something to join in with. If there's not a society for you, create one with student ratification!

Love the diversity of the first year, it gives you such a broad knowledge of everything available to you in yout marine biology degree. The courses are termly and have many lecturers to teach. The worst part, in my opinion is how there was no optional modules to be taken in the first year

There is emails every week about employability and careers advice, with seminars taking place every term and we have recently had a careers fair for summer work and internships.

Lovely! Currently living in Godwin townhouse in the meadows. The closest accommodation to town and Tescos. Only a 15 minute walk away from main campus (squares). In a townhouse, you share a bathroom with one other person and have a total of 12 total people in the townhouse. I love the atmosphere in this place, there is always someone around to chat to in the large kitchen. Rooms have small double beds and a full size desk.
