The facilities are all really clean and tidy which makes it a good place to focus when studying. However, there are a limited number of seating options in the JMS and library for groups of people and when it gets really busy, individuals. Also, the Boyd Orr lecture theatre can get really cold which can make it hard to focus.

The best aspects of the course are that there are a lot of contact hours which helps for asking questions in person. However for vet bio there’s a lot of overlap between biology and the content taught at the vet school and a lack of communication as we had two tests and a lab on one day which meant you couldn’t focus on one thing. Additionally, it would be helpful to get a reading week as some time to consolidate learning but we’re not offered one.

Its value for money isn’t the best as when we arrived quite a few things such as the oven, fridges and the toilet in my room were broken. The seal of the oven was broken which has now been fixed but still the oven doesn’t close properly. The freezer doors have been snapped and broken and my toilet was leaking but it’s not anymore. The laundry is also very expensive and it keeps breaking so it gets really busy as there are 4 washers and 4 dryers for the whole building. The location is good because you get to know the city but it could be better advertised that it’s not close to the uni on the website. The storage in rooms is also not the best as it’s hard to access the under bed storage which could’ve been more effective if it was draws instead of having to lift up the mattress. Otherwise the rooms are good.
