Student life is colourful, with many societies available. The university frequently organises movie nights, quizzes and events that celebrate diversity.
Facilities are decent; I enjoy using the gym and pool. The onsite cinema offers heavy discounts for students, and there are cafes for hot lunches and quick bites throughout the campus. The onsite supermarket is convenient but slightly pricier than other supermarkets in the city. There is also a GP and dentist.
Location wise, students get the best of both worlds, as the campus is in the beautiful countryside and yet the bus takes you to the city centre in about 15 minutes (plus waiting time). I heard parking is not cheap or easy though, so drivers take note. Otherwise, students do enjoy a special rate when using the bicycle sharing scheme.

The teaching is thorough and engaging, possibly because my cohort is relatively small. Lecturers are experienced and the course content is relevant to the industry. Contact time is under 20 hours per week, which is quite fair for a masters in my subject, especially since lecturers can be contactable through email or office hours anyway. Work placement is not part of my course, but the university has a career service that helps with placements and graduate jobs, in addition to CV/interview checks and career events. Alumni seem to be getting good jobs, and modules also focus on developing practical skills that employers prize. Lastly, the virtual learning environment is easy to use.

University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
The hall I stayed in is right across campus, which is very convenient. Campus security is alright; there is a security office and safety app. I feel safe when going home at night, but always practise common sense of course.
The facilities are decent, but there seems to be quite a premium for enjoying an ensuite room. Wifi is decent, but mobile reception is a wee bit patchy. There is a reception at the ground floor to help with room problems and receive parcels. The onsite laundromat works well, although it can get crowded at times and students often complain about paying £4 for a wash and dry.
Note that this is for my hall; there are other halls that has its own washing machine, no reception or might be located off campus. For example, my hall is notorious for fire alarms that go off frequently. Assembling outside at 2am in the winter is not fun, but that is health and safety for you.
