It's an wonderful institution where from day 1 you get to collaborate with other course students to do your assessments and projects like you would it real world. This not only does it make it extremally fun and interesting but also simulates real life scenarios. Until now, I have not had any particular bad experiences.

Atleast for my course "Robotics" year one is more of common topics based on game development and designs. Which is a bit outside my scope since I have no prior knowledge about game development or games. But in the group projects we are encouraged to incorporate aspects of our respective courses, which is really exiting, while we also have access to many lab equipment's and tools. But all my sessions are well thought in real life, i have no online sessions for my course, other than my meting's with my personal tutor. Not quite sure about the internships and work placements but hoping there are many platforms and opportunities!

So far I have really enjoyed my course, even though with the shared first year with the rest of the Games Academy, (Not really my interest); we learned more about coding with C#, C++ and working with other profession types. In the first year we created a game where I designed a controller specifically for the game, featuring LED's a potentiometer (as a dial), and some other buttons. We also learnt to use other team based applications that allow us to plan through with the team and creating a devlog. I would say the second year has been a lot better for me so far, as our first major module was to design a robot base on four tasks, Stair climbing, a pipe robot for clearing debris, scaling a beach and finding an item and another picking up an item and moving it to a certain location. All of which is great fun seeing everyone in my year come up with their own designs and creating their own methods to complete the tasks. I think we have all learned a lot more from these modules as we have been able to experiment with lots of different components, letting us make mistakes and coming up with many different solutions. So far my time at the university has been amazing, a place where you feel like you are able to experiment and are supported to do so from the staff. There's an opportunity to work with professional robotics' and have them help with your own side projects as well as your university work. With all the equipment you could need accessible at (wood lane) another campus and even more equipment on the same campus we have. I feel like i can experiment and use many tools available to us.

Worse part of the course must be the first year, you don't do very much robotics and are learning a lot of game design. Although it helps to learn the integration of robotics and helps you learn to code more efficiently. Best part has to be that you are able to experiment with components that lecturers haven't seen before. There is loads to start doing and even if the lecturers are unsure on how components work, they will sit down with you and help you to experiment from the get go, everyone wants to ' how the cool toys work'.
