Organise your finances and know what you can afford. Also with regards to money, if you want a job, get handing out CVs the second you arrive. Within a week, other new students with the same idea have nabbed all the vacancies and if you want a good job in york you need to act quick or you will be left handing out flyers for nightclubs at 3am!

I wish I would known what a class shock university would be, so I could have prepared more. Living in the most expensive halls merely for an en-suite bathroom meant I had to lose my south London(ish) accent very quickly
