the university has very good mental health support programs and the team is very lovely and quick to respond. i also respect that all the teachers are well established artists and currently work in the industry and teach also, giving us alot of industry relevant knowledge about art. the area of sunderland may be a small city but the university is rather close to the centre and close to the sea and beaches as well as lots of nature which i love.

classes are all in person and due to me being on the foundation year the classes are minimal and gives time to do work while having time to think about it. i never have been taught by such amazing teachers and i can’t wait for all the years of education with them that are yet to come.

equal distance between campuses

Easy to find campus, centrally located. Friendly, dedicated staff. Insightful lessons Arts facilities are very nice, but it does feel overcrowded, especially in comparison to other subjects, some classmates don't have a proper studio space. A downside to the course would be that students need to pay for materials, our tuition fees don't seem to cover this unfortunately, which is a shame as I have found that me and my classmates are already having to pay an awful lot when we are trying to better ourselves. The cafe in the priestman building is really nice, and feels like a friendly atmosphere however this is also quite expensive, and lots of students can't justify spending this much on a drink or lunch. There are vending machines avaliable, which also serve hot drinks that do make up for this though, its just a shame to have a nice cafe in your building but be unable to use it. As a student I would love for there to be a bit more care when it comes to pricing/use of fees.

Teachers are excellent, very dedicated and caring. Very enthusiastic and helpful. They made my transition to university a comfortable one. Very lovely to be around. Tutors are also very helpful and open.
