The support for students from student services and student union is wonderful. I am based in the city centre and the location is great. Is it important to note that as a PhD you do have also have access to these facilities. However as a PhD the main point of call is the doctoral school. The doctoral school are not always as helpful as you need and tend to lack in their communication skills.

As a PhD it is a self motivated project. There are training courses and access to career advice which are useful. You have to have a good relationship with your supervisor otherwise the PhD will be very difficult

I haven’t really felt part of a community but I think that might be because of covid, but the facilities in the both the art building and the SU are fab, I also like the library a lot!

We need more ‘how-to’ sessions to encourage us to try new things, but the studio space is great!
