Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
Academically, I feel engaged in the module content and work. However, the uni could do more to help students and make them feel part of the community at such a low time. It can be difficult to concentrate and mentally the pandemic has taken a toll on much of the student community. I hope that the uni go forward putting mental health on the forefront of their mission to better the student body. However, they have made a good effort at engaging students, thus, I'm excited to have a more ordinary student experience in the future.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
Although services have reached out and made themselves known, I feels so detached from the uni.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
Considering the circumstances, the art history department has still managed to engage its students in learning using mainly online resources to do so. Lecturers and tutors have been so friendly and willing to help no matter what. Despite the unfortunate situation surrounding the pandemic, as a first year I'm excited and looking forward to furthering my studies!
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
