I love the library facilities, and the amount of cafe spaces in which students can work. Improvements could be some more designated quiet study spaces spread over campus, or clearer signage as to where these spaces are.

Contact hours are only 4-5 a week, have been since first year. First year was online lectures, and only a few in person hours. Contacting lecturers is easy, and they always respond in a timely manner

Student accommodation prices went up by at least 30 quid a week, public transport is good can get to and from campus from a range of locations. Part-time work is good however due to the large amount of students there is a lack of jobs if you are not the first applicants. Personally York is good for graduate employment opportunities as it is the hub of English heritage, offering a range of jobs in different aspects.

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
The accommodation is value for money, a 15 minute walk away from the heart of campus if a slow walker, the house was lovely, kitchen size was small depending on which floor you were on. Breakfast was served within the house, dinner on campus. Personally my room size was decent with 2 windows, whereas others had small rooms, with not much space.

York is a great city to live in, as there are always events going on in the center and it’s so historic. The York Student Union puts on a lot of events, but none of them have appealed to me particularly. The University of York’s campus is pretty out of the way and the architecture is ugly.

My lecturers are all brilliant, though I don’t feel I get much one-on-one time with them. The course content is relevant and interesting. I’m worried about my career prospects after I graduate, but my department does have some resources for me to explore.
