The university itself has amazing facilities for the courses that they offer. However, unlike other university’s, the use of the facilities, unless you’re a top-level athlete, is extremely difficult to use unless paying a large amount of money. The university is very expensive, the cafes, food, drinks etc. the sport academy fees are not student friendly and you only get the full benefits of the academy if you’re in the top teams, however if you’re not in the top teams you still have to pay the same amount but you don’t get the benefits. The student library is also extremely expensive for a livery that is DIY, however, the facilities are once again incredible. The student accommodation onsite is also ridiculously expensive, and the facilities and the actual accommodation aren’t very nice. The societies at the university are also very minimal, the only opportunity to join a good society is if join in of the sports teams. There are only a handful of sports to join and a small amount of society’s to join which doesn’t make this accessible for many students unless you’re an athlete or you have a horse. Setting up a new society is also incredibly difficult, and when I tried to achieve this, I didn’t have much support from the staff at all. Overall, although the university is academically supportive, and has excellent sporting opportunities for the sports they offer, as well as has amazing lecturers, and the facilities are incredible, it is not very student budget friendly and compared to other university’s across the country you don’t get the same opportunities. All of the negatives to the university wouldn’t be as problematic if it wasn’t so expensive.

The feedback from the assignments don’t explain often where you exactly went wrong and exactly how you could improve. The only say that you went wrong. The course is mostly in class with a lot of the lectures recorded so you can watch them online. Most of the lectures are supportive and offer many opportunities with extras outside of classroom.

The accommodation was extremely expensive and there weren’t many options to go cheaper. My accommodation was not on the campus itself and I did live in the city of Gloucester. For accommodation in Gloucester it was a nice location however the city itself does bring the location down. The student parking around the accomdation is mostly impossible unless paying ridiculous fees. This is a problem because unlike other university’s there isn’t easy public transport and most students need a car due to how rural the university is. I’m currently in my final year and I rent a house in Gloucester with my friends. The renting prices are you extremely expensive for the location as Gloucester is not very nice. The parking is better and if you don’t have a car to get around or get a job it can be very lonely and suffocating as the public transport is useless.

The lecturers have been amazing so far, so supportive and caring and helpful. Also so engaging.
