University of Essex is such a great place to study. As an international student, I’m having the best time and experience being a student here. It’s the one thing I’m glad about since I moved here. I definitely made a perfect decision with my choice of uni. The first thing I noticed about them is they respond swiftly especially with the application process. They have amazing courses with great student and staff support. They have various societies and clubs for everyone. They care about safety and consent for students. UoE throws the best parties, we have the best school club ! There are tons of accommodation on and off campus for various prices according to your budget. The university in collaboration with students support and stand with different organizations and activities, LGBT+ , Earthquake relief, Safety & Consent initiatives, Sustainability Initiatives and more. You can count on meeting different types of people and groups every single day. It’s a fun and exciting experience. I’ve made lots of great friends with people I never thought I would lol . Also if you’d like to go off campus, you have everything near you. London isn’t far at all about an hour or less. Within Colchester, we have access to the main markets and malls and shops on and off campus. There’s just easy access to all the places you might want to go within colchester. There’s security on campus, it’s always safe. The SU is great, my favorite thing about them is how they reduce the prices of thing for students due to the cost of living crises and how they make £2 meal deals for students as well as other things they do. There are so many great volunteering opportunities, there’s also paid jobs on campus for students who are looking for jobs. They also have the cites cat on campus lol So yeah. Lol. I’m studying MA advertising, marketing and media. It’s such a fun course. It’s the sociology department in collaboration with the Essex Business School. The lecturers are very engaging and enthusiastic. They always wanbt to carry you along. There’s tons of activities to do in class. The lecturers also have work hours when you can contact them and ask any questions you have or have them clarify details on your coursework or anything you need . There are also mentors and course advisors

Colchester is a small but interesting place. It’s close to London so maybe that’s why things are fairly expensive. It’s a great place for students , it’s also safe . If you’re coming from a busy country or state, you might find it boring as if it relatively quiet and slow paced . But other than that. It’s a great place . There are tons of restaurants and coffee shops , malls, cinemas , everything you might need .
