University was okay so far. Obviously it had it good parts, like the friends I've made so far, my course being interesting or the wonderful mix of events and opportunities and its bad parts like deadlines, the sometimes quite monotonous feel of the campus or the location of the university.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
The library and the computer labs are very good and offer a lot of cool features that proved helpful in the past.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
There is a lot of support coming from the academic staff that encouraged us to come to them with any kind of problems regarding the course and even personal problems. For counselling there are a range of very different people you can contact from your college, course, the student's union, the night line, etc. so help is always there if you feel like struggling.
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
They do a good job at coming up with interesting events and advertising them across the campus.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Being a small city, Lancaster doesn't offer as many opportunities as a big city but there are things to see & do around it, even at night.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
There is a wide range of societies and club, but in time they tend to get less enthusiastic about their activity and it could feel quite boring at times.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
What I like most is that the lecturers give relevant examples and show us how the theory impacts the world that we live in. What I like the least is the fact that they sometimes don't cover all the information in a lecture so there is a lot of work to do after class.
How many contact hours per week do you have?
10
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
Careers department has a lot of events like workshops, webinars, lecture, mock assessment centers and they look very friendly and willing to help. There are drop in sessions if you want someone to look over your CV, help you with writing a cover letter or take an interview. There are also a lot of skills workshops in which you can take part if you want to develop yourself.
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
Refurbished the summer before I moved in so it looks good. Sharing showers, toilets and a kitchen with 8 other people isn't as bad as I imagined. The idea of college is nice and all the staff is really great and helpful

Incredible University, I have loved all my time here, the teaching is amazing from some of the best researchers around. Its a relatively new university so still has so much more potential to become even higher. current building is taking place to upgrade the library and build a new engineering building which will mean the University has even more excellent facilities. Particularly the Management school has a world reputation, so this is the only place anyone should be studying marketing! Its one of the only Universities to have a collegiate system therefore you feel at home in your house and there are plenty of responsible positions for you to get involved with and enhance your CV. I am currently a Student Ambassador for Lancaster University!
