Amazon Future Engineer scholarships support women studying computer science or related engineering courses, with awards worth £5,000 a year for up to four years.

Note: the number of students who receive the award varies annually.
The UK continues to face demand for workers with computer science-related qualifications and skills.
To help address this skills shortage, Amazon runs Amazon Future Engineer, a programme designed to inspire and support young people to get into computer science.
As part of this initiative Amazon aims to tackle gender inequality in the sector. It does this by offering university scholarships to women from low-income households studying computer science or related engineering courses at UK universities.
This is a programme run by Amazon, designed to increase access to computer science education and career opportunities.
The programme aims to inspire young people to explore computer science from an early age and supports students from underserved and underrepresented communities.
There are a number of initiatives across different age ranges, including resources for primary and secondary school pupils covering coding, engineering and careers in technology as well as career exploration activities and support for older students.
As part of the scheme, Amazon is offering apprenticeships to college-aged students across the country.
These apprenticeships vary, in both sector and location but enable apprentices to combine college or uni-based learning with on-the-job training.
You’ll be working in real Amazon offices, development centres and fulfilment centres alongside real, highly skilled Amazon employees, giving your career in your chosen field a great starting platform.
You can find a full list of what's on offer and more information here.
For those who would like to go down the more academic route to a career in tech, Amazon is also funding university scholarships for female students studying computer science at a UK uni.
The universities at which students can gain a scholarship include University of Edinburgh, King’s College London and University of Cambridge amongst others. If you’re from a low-income background and want to study an eligible course, the scholarship could help make university more affordable.
To apply for the scholarship, you need to meet these criteria:
Be female
Be studying at least one relevant A-level, Scottish Higher or full time technical course at a further education college
Have received an offer (conditional or unconditional) to study an eligible subject at a UK university
Be a UK resident and eligible for 'home' tuition fees
Be enrolling at a UK university and commencing studies at the start of the next academic year
Have been eligible for free school meals from the date you started post-16 studies and/or have at least one parent/guardian in receipt of state benefits, not including Child Benefit where this is the only benefit being received
Eligible courses include computer science, electrical and electronic engineering, information technology, software engineering, artificial intelligence, computer games and animation, business computing, applied computing, computer forensics, creative computing, computer aided engineering, computational mathematics, computational physics or a combination of these course areas.
