some lectures seem pointless as we often go off-topic - scalable software engineering is an example. The weighting of group work especially in software engineering is too high. I had modules where 100% of the coursework and the final grade was group work. The course hours is good and contact with most lectures is okay too.

There are several standout aspects that make this institution truly exceptional, as well as a few areas where improvements could enhance the student experience even further. The Best Parts: Student Support and Supervisor Guidance: One of the most impressive aspects of this university is the level of student support provided. The academic supervisors are incredibly dedicated, offering not only guidance but also genuine encouragement throughout the research process. The research support from the faculty is outstanding, with resources and expertise readily available to help students excel in their studies. This level of support has made a significant difference in my academic journey, and I am truly grateful for it. Student Union and Activities: The Student Union is another highlight of this university. They organize a wide range of engaging and creative activities that foster a strong sense of community. From painting workshops to fun events like making ginger cookies, there’s always something to look forward to outside of academics. These activities provide a great balance to the rigors of study and offer opportunities to connect with fellow students in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. Areas for Improvement: Library Quiet Spaces: While the library is a great resource, I feel it could benefit from more designated quiet spaces. As a student, having access to a peaceful environment is crucial for focused study and research. Adding more quiet zones or silent study areas would greatly enhance the library’s functionality and cater to students who need a distraction-free atmosphere. Library Monitors: Another suggestion would be to add monitors or screens in the library, particularly in group study areas. These could be used for presentations, collaborative work, or even to display important announcements. This addition would make the library even more versatile and accommodating to different study needs. Overall, this university provides an excellent academic and social experience, with exceptional student support and a vibrant Student Union. With a few improvements to the library facilities, it could truly become an even more perfect place for learning and personal growth.
