I have thoroughly enjoyed my time studying at University of Wales Trinity Saint David on the Carmarthen campus. It has opened up a wide range of possibilities and opportunities for me, such as being appointed the Student Voice Course Representative, the BPS Student Ambassador for UWTSD, and the BPS Lead Student Ambassador for Wales. Although the university population is smaller than others in the country, there is much more one-to-one experience with lecturers, thanks to the use of small classrooms as opposed to large lecture halls. As such, the level of support from lecturers is outstanding. Moreover, although the university campus in Carmarthen has some older buildings, they have built a much more modern building where lectures are held. This is a really feel-good space for learning! Likewise, the library is a lovely space too, with a range of areas to choose from depending on whether you are doing independent work, group work, or more chilled-out activities. With regards to ‘student experience’ on the Carmarthen campus, many would expect it not to be as good as city universities, considering the more rural location. However, what I will say is the student union put their best efforts in to host a range of activities suitable for all walks of life, and the night life can be really good fun! Though, for those looking for an even more up-beat student experience, the university have campuses in Swansea, Cardiff, London, and Birmingham! Overall, I have only positive things to say about University of Wales Trinity Saint David. It was the best decision to study there, and I am forever grateful for the support, education, friends, and personal growth!

The applied psychology course is amazing!! The lecturers are extremely friendly, and support you whenever and wherever they can! There is lots of one-to-one contact with the lecturers, and they even host 1 hour drop in sessions at the beginning of lectures to discuss any assignment or lecture queries! In addition, the modules have been delivered outstandingly, with lectures full of information, extra reading suggestions, and additional content for those with an extra level of passion for the subject!

Actually on aa BSc Applied Psychology course, wasn't an option. The SU are so helpful, Helen from Student Voice will support you all the way and further. It's located just out of town, so when doing a late night study, you're not distracted by any noise. It's on the local bus route. The staff at the Hwb desk in the T&L building are super lovely, always welcoming, and always happy to have a chat and help in any way that they can. The lecturers will support and give really good advice and guidance. Academic Office are firm, but fair. Reception staff are lovely and welcoming. I think the Carmarthen campus would really benefit from having an onsite nursery/creche, a lot of the students there are parents. This university has been a place of finding myself and securing the foundations for my future, I am very grateful for my time here and all the people that I have met.

On the BPS side, they had too many applicants and so my membership has been missed each academic year so far. I do not think that there were enough opportunities for seminars or careers events, we only knew of one taking place in our final year. I think we should know before we start our dissertation thesis, so we can have an insight into the field we want to go into, alongside this, I think that there should be a link between the university and local businesses to get us relevant psychology internships/placements as the placement we had to do had to be in an educational setting. Overall, I think the course has been really insightful, the lecturers know what they're talking about. I think it's a massive shame that this course is ending on the Carmarthen campus.
