The opportunity to have 1-1 tutorials with industry professionals is priceless, and there are a few tutors there who are amazing, and endlessly helpful. However overall bimm can be a bit disorganised, and that they have no proper practice rooms is a major letdown. In my final year I had a couple of modules and tutors who were utterly useless.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
No proper practice rooms at one of the top music universities. Everything else is good though.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
Some courses and some lecturers changed my life, some of the final modules were useless to me. Though some lecturers seemed to put less efoort in, they are all massively overworked, meaning sometimes they cant help you like they should.
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
You will be encouraged to be a session musician more than anything else. You will have to probe to get advice and find the path you want.
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
You can stay at sussex uni in your first year, which is a trek

The best aspect for me is the lecturers.
Everyone I’ve met so far has been very professional, polite, fair, and helpful. I strongly appreciate how much they contribute to students’ progress, and the fact that they are always ready to help - even when it goes beyond their responsibilities - makes me respect them even more.
I had the opportunity to learn from lessons, which was a genuinely wonderful experience.
The worst aspect is the lack of facilities and additional lessons.
Sometimes it is difficult to find an available time slot to book a room or a tutorial.
Tutorials are also quite short, and sometimes there is not enough time to properly discuss certain questions.

I find BIMM’s online platforms convenient. I receive all important information via email and Canvas notifications, so there is little chance of missing anything. I am also satisfied with the online materials provided for additional learning.
However, I think that lessons sometimes lack 1-to-1 interaction, which means they require a high level of self-awareness and strong observation skills in order to learn productively. I also feel that some lessons are designed somewhat superficially, especially in terms of theory.
Overall, I like the concept of the education programme. I think it is well balanced, as it provides enough information during lessons while also leaving sufficient time to apply it independently in practice.
