I'm from America and I moved to Bristol to study at BIMM. It's absolutely great, one of the best choices I've made. I'm studying vocals and can say that if you're a vocalist and you're looking at BIMM, look no further because you won't find a better vocal program, led by anyone better.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
After many complaints about a lack of rehearsal space, BIMM has stepped up the game and now have rehearsal rooms for the students and it's fantastic. BIMM also has coffee for students and I greatly appreciate that.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
It's great
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
BIMM always has events going on almost every night of the week. There's always a gig or an open mic night happening. You won't be stuck alone in your room, bored with nothing to do.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
There really aren't any clubs or societies at BIMM. There's choir though, that's pretty cool.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
The lecturers at BIMM have such astounding amounts of knowledge about the music industry and can provide unbelievable contacts. Keeping in mind that, yes, it IS a school so not every single lecture will be interesting, I find that I come away knowing new things every day.
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
There aren't any BIMM accommodations specifically for students at BIMM but there are some great places within a 2 minute walk.
