Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
it has been very pleasnat so far, there is not a thing that i want to change, and it is shame that i have to leave to hospital in one year, but i m going to miss it! especially, the people here
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
it is very good. since my course is quite new, we have majority of facility dedicated to only 80 or 90 students. they are looked after and cared quite well and is very accessible to student who needs them.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).

Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
it is quite enjoyable. there is different things going on every monday, wednesday and friday, and it usually involves all different culture ranging from asia to western. sometimes we have nights dedicated to Mexican, Nigerian, Korean, Indian, American, etc. it has been very diverse, and activity that takes place also has wide variety.
i dont really get involved since i dont have much time and when i do have time i would like to nap!
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
its small! but has everything that u need. however, public transport needs to be improved slightly.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?

Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
what ilike the most
unlike other uni, we have very small cohort. so in majority of case, lecturers and clinical educators know each students very well. not only do they memorise all the names, but they can provide personal feedback to individal progress, and also spare their time to go through things that studnets dont understand. plus, we also have advantages of group work, where seven to eight student come together to work as one strong team, and learn how to battle hardship in medical studnet's life.
what i least like
this is quite difficult to say. i am yet to find anything i dislike about, since medical students are encouraged to let our voice heard, hence everything that we have raised is either been fixed or being investigated. if i had to pick, i can say that travelling cost of the placement has not been covered by uni, but this is being investigated right now.
How many contact hours per week do you have?
20
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
being a medical student, we dont really have to worry about employability, but the uni assigned one day per week to ensure that all medical students do placement work. so for first year, we were lucky enough to have four placement areas, while in general, first years in other unis do not get any. i was rotating two different hospitals (milton keyenes and warwick hospital), local GP clinics, and also a session in the university to learn about the new examinations. as our cohorts say, placement work has definitely gave us more confidence, and experience, which helped us to learn things that cannot be taught during lecture, be it communication or interpersonal skills. therefore, i am proud to say that university of buckingham has tried very hard to provide students with maximum exposure to real clinical world, and it has worked very well, indeed.
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
it is very big, and very comfortable for the given price. i pay just over 100pound per week, which is not much but the room is quite big. it is big enough to fit in two full size tables, one single bed, one big wardrobe, mini fridge, small tea table, and couple bed side tables and chairs. yet, i have enough room on the floor to fit four people or more to play board games together. the kitchen is very clean, with cleaner coming in everyday to empty the bin and clean the shared area. there is also one big fridge and freezer for four people to use together, so i never had to worry about running out of space. the noise is also kept to minimum, so i never had problem with noise waking me up or distracting me during weekends and weekdays. if you have any enquiry or problem, it will get fixed either the same day or a day after. i had a problem with a toilet, and it was fixed two hours after i sent an email. the shower is also very big which also gets cleaned everyday, so every morning i wake up to clean and fresh shower, with hot water. the temperature of the accommodation is always kept warm, and you can control the temperature however you want, during winter and summer. security is also very well managed, since security is around ten feet next to my accommodation, and they check everynight to ensure that everyone is safe. overall, i never expected a uni accommodation to be such outstanding standard, so i am very pleased to live in the accommodation.
