This year has been strange and the university has seemed slow to adapt to the current situation. Lecturers have seemed as in the dark as students. Hopefully we can get fully back to campus soon

Really good facilities, just needs more tables in the library but that's not a unique problem

Was a mixed bag with the lecturers, one of the lecturers didn't seem to know the topic when asked questions and read his lectures directly from slides

Being at university differs from the first 18 years of my life because I now have a massive sense of responsibility and consequence. Every decision matters but there is also a real sense of freedom and respect as an adult in the world.

All facilities are well-maintained - kept to a high standard.

Having lived in Middlesbrough all my life, city life is no different to my life prior to university. There's a certain sense of interest when one does things for themselves and a significant sense of success when one succeeds in doing so

Most: The majority of lecturers are concise, are easy to follow, well-planned tutorials and they are extremely helpful on a one-to-one basis. Least: Some lecturers skip over or rush significant parts of lectures, and I think there should be more to do from a practical standpoint

The School of Science, Engineering and Design in my university runs a professional skills module for first year students which covers things such as CV writing, report writing and interviews and there is a practical half to the module which requires students to construct a vice (honing the practical skills one would certainly require in a workshop manufacturing environment). Secondly, my course offers a placement year following the completion of the second year which is an extremely generous amount of time to develop and learn more about engineering from a practical point of view rather than from lecturers - something which would prove vital upon getting a job after graduating from university.
