Teesside University is honestly a good place to study, especially if you’re doing something practical like engineering. The lecturers are approachable and actually try to help rather than just reading off slides. The course structure makes sense and there’s a good balance between theory and hands on work. The campus is easy to get around and the facilities are modern, especially the labs and library. There are plenty of study spaces and resources which help a lot during coursework and exams. Student support is decent too, particularly for international students and people coming through foundation routes.

Best aspects The best part of my course is that it’s very practical and hands-on. You actually get to apply what you learn through labs, projects, and coursework instead of just doing theory all the time. The lecturers are approachable and supportive, and if you’re struggling they’re usually willing to explain things again or help outside class. I also like that the course is structured in a clear way, so you can see how different modules link together. Worst aspects The main downside is that the workload can build up quickly, especially when multiple deadlines fall around the same time. Some modules can feel quite intense if you fall behind, and a few topics could be explained more slowly at the start. Also, group work can be challenging at times depending on how engaged everyone is.
