Can’t complain, good living areas

Academic support is very good overall at this university especially on my course. Instructors are always willing to give advice where they're able to. Instructors are knowledgeable and engaging and overall they mark fairly. The campus is small but has everything a student could need. A small campus in my opinion is a benefit of attending this university. The university could improve its administrative support. Often administrative support is slow, and I/students need to follow up multiple times for issues or concerns. There also is lack of communication or sharing of information between departments. When going through the advice zone the information isn't always accurate; this past August caused an issue with incorrect advice given and registration for the course which led to extra administrative steps required and my loan being delayed further as I couldn't register. The jisc studygoal app used by ISW to monitor student engagement, and importantly international student attendance is remarkably inconsistent and causes multiple issues for students with incorrect information claiming lack of engagement. This ultimately threatens international student visas and causes undue mental stress that students do not need.

Location of halls (up a large steep hill) does make it hard to get to at times. There is a mini shop on campus that has some basic necessities but the closest grocery store is a Tesco Express (approx 10min walk away) or a Sainsbury's (approx 30min walk away) which makes food access sometimes difficult. Each room has their own ensuite, and the rooms are equipped with a bed, desk, and wardrobe. Which allows students to have privacy and easily engage in student work. Communal space of the kitchen comes with equal storage of cupboard space and fridge/freezer. Sitting space is uncomfortable and does not easily allow for group meals/activities.
