Studying at Croydon University Centre within Croydon College has given me the freedom to manage my personal and study life efficiently due to the college’s great location, which is within easy reach to all transport links with an excellent range of shops and restaurants within easy reach. Having lived in Croydon for a significant number of years has been an advantage, however, if I was to live further afield I would have still chosen Croydon University Centre to study. This is because courses are economical compared to other Universities offering similar courses. Although the College is smaller this could be advantageous to many who prefer a more personal service which Croydon provides due to its size. Facilities are in proportion with good quality catering services providing food for all tastes and budgets. To improve the University, a few more personal touches could be added such as personal lockers which are not available to people on certain courses. It would also be good for social events to be introduced to allow students to socialise and build friendships which many people struggle to do. I have had a good experience at the College and University and would recommend it to prospective students.

The previous lockdowns has affected us all by changing the way we attend lectures . The University has managed to adapt very effectively. My course is two days per week and is split between class teaching and online lectures. It has worked well and provided students more flexibility with sufficient time for independent learning. This allows for more flexibility to students who may not be able to attend class on both days due to illness etc and could instead opt to attend online. Tutors are timely in responding to emails and provide detailed feedback on assignments.
