Tell us about your overall college experience so far.

My overall experience has been fantastic. As a mature student going back to education was a big step, in addition to having major health problems and young children. However, the support from the college and the understanding and kindness of tutors has made it a positive experience that i continue to enjoy!

Job Prospects

How does your college make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?

The college ensures that as graphic designers we have the right tools to launch ourselves into the business side of the profession. We are actively encouraged to take on internships, and paid job roles, as well as being pointed towards competitions and live briefs to build our experience. Professional practise forms a major part of our college learning which covers every aspect from employment to freelancing.

Course and Lecturers

What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?

Being a college environment and not a uni, teaching groups are smaller which means tutors are more readily available when needed, and also more familiar with their students. This is especially good when students have extenuating circumstances and need that little extra input. Tutors make sure that students get one to ones regularly in line with their learning.

How good are your college's facilities?

The college has good facilities, with a canteen, library, the restaurant, a gym, a salon amongst other facilities.

Student Support

How good is the support offered by the college? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).

Support offered by the college is good. Academic support is readily available if needed. Personal support in the case of myself and extenuating circumstances leading to prolonged absence and deadline extensions due to health problems has been excellent, allowing me to continue on my course with little to no affect on my grades.
