Social Studies foundation degrees

Earlier in my degree there was a lot of uncertainty within the forensic cohort especially surrounding lecturer instability. We still see it now with lecturers having to teach modules that are not related to their dedicated area. However, this has not impeded my request for help and support from them but it would be useful to allocate staffing with the school of psychology to their specific area of expertise. From a student welfare perspective…the services are accessible and easy to access. They have helped me tremendously through hard times of student and balancing external family commitments.

Studying at Birmingham City University in the Curzon building is great because of the modern facilities, comfortable study spaces, and central location, which makes everything convenient. It could be improved by adding more quiet study areas during busy times and better communication about timetable updates.

It is one of the largest British universities with accreditation of The Institute of Engineering and technology. Also, it has 95% employability rate within 6 months of Graduation with professional qualities and skills. They offer Assistance from Careers and Employability Service during our studies and after our graduation. USW Offers 500+ courses with unique & realistic course modules. Moreover USW’s research and teaching are focused on the global challenges. It is situated in an outstanding part of the UK with city life, mountains, coast and precious campuses. There are cultural diversity stunning beaches and breathtaking countryside. They provide facilities like 15-weeks work project opportunity. Dedicated Mac & PC labs with specialist facilities. Always working with the latest technologies & development tools. Calypto lab, with software licenses & support for the Catapult C toolset, sponsored by Calypto Design Systems Inc. Renesas Embedded Systems Lab includes 25 new high-end terminals running advanced tools. Work on industrial case studies and be involved in ‘live’ mini-projects. All these things make University of Southwales different from others and it stand unique in it’s own way.

My experience at the university has been very positive. The lecturers are supportive and helpful, and the learning environment is friendly and welcoming. The university provides good academic resources and facilities for students. It is also a great place to meet people from different cultures.Overall, I am satisfied with my experience and it is a great place to study and learn.

It’s a great place to study because the academic environment is supportive, the teaching quality is strong, and there are plenty of opportunities to grow through projects, events, and collaboration with classmates. The campus community also makes it easy to feel included and motivated. It could be improved by streamlining administrative processes, offering clearer communication, and reducing unnecessary bureaucracy. More practical learning opportunities and better support during exam periods would also make a big difference.

One of the best parts of studying at Roehampton University is the friendly and supportive environment. The lecturers explain topics clearly and are always willing to help when students have questions. The campus is peaceful, with good facilities like the library, study rooms, and social spaces, which makes it a comfortable place to learn. I also enjoy meeting classmates from different countries and backgrounds because it helps me learn new ideas and understand different cultures. The teaching style at Roehampton makes learning easier and more enjoyable. Seminars and group activities help me understand the lessons better, and the coursework is practical, helping me connect what I learn to real-life situations. I feel that the university encourages students to think independently and build confidence. Overall, I feel supported in my studies, and this has helped me grow both academically and personally. Even though my experience has been positive, there are some areas that could improve. Sometimes the workload feels heavy, especially when deadlines are close together. Communication about certain tasks or readings can be unclear at times. More career support, part-time job opportunities, and more flexible timetables would also make things easier for students. However, these challenges are common in most universities, and Roehampton still offers a good overall student experience.
