Canterbury Christ Church University is a genuinely supportive and caring environment that prioritises not only academic success but also student wellbeing. The staff are approachable and always willing to help, and there are plenty of services available for health, wellbeing, and academic support. The sense of community is strong — you never feel like just a number. The university’s focus on employability is another major strength, and it’s reflected in its impressive record of being rated first in graduate employment. The campus is welcoming and inclusive, and the facilities create a great atmosphere for learning and personal growth. Although the university offers great support, it could continue to improve by expanding study spaces and updating some facilities to keep up with growing student numbers.

As a mature student returning to formal education after more than 30 years, I began my academic journey at the University of East London with considerable anxiety and self-doubt. I questioned whether I truly belonged in a university setting and whether I had the capacity to succeed in such a demanding environment. However, enrolling in the BSc Psychology programme at UEL has been one of the most transformative and affirming experiences of my life. The School of Psychology at UEL has consistently demonstrated excellence in both teaching and student support. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed, with modules that are not only academically rigorous but also deeply engaging and relevant to real-world psychological issues. Each module is clearly aligned with well-structured learning outcomes, which foster both intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. Far from being dry or abstract, the content is delivered in a way that makes you eager to explore further and apply your knowledge in meaningful ways. What truly sets this School apart is the unwavering dedication of its academic staff. Lecturers and tutors go above and beyond to ensure that students from all backgrounds and levels of experience receive the guidance they need to succeed. Their approach is not only academically sound but also deeply human and compassionate. Whether through lectures, workshops, or one-to-one support, their commitment to student development is evident in every aspect of the learning environment. Moreover, as someone who entered higher education with significant apprehension, I have found the inclusive and empowering atmosphere at UEL to be crucial to my personal and academic growth. I have gained not only knowledge but also confidence, purpose, and a renewed belief in my own potential. In sum, the School of Psychology at the University of East London offers a rich, supportive, and intellectually stimulating environment for anyone seeking to study psychology, whether fresh out of school or returning to education after many years. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to prospective students looking for a truly transformative educational experience.

The campus is absolutely gorgeous! A wonderful mix of old and new, castles and modern buildings. Reserving rooms encourages students to get out of their rooms and study anywhere on campus, from the top of the castle tower, to the communal "pods" at Commons. The Student Union building has a bar and a small shop, and activities going on almost every day. Karaoke every other Saturday is one of my favourites. Close enough to the city of Bath for easy access, while still having the feeling of a university town. Lots of student discounts and student bars/clubs in town, as the University of Bath is also nearby. Interesting classes, lovely lecturers and guest lecturers, and proper assessments. Few, if not none, tests, allowing for those who do not thrive with simple memorization to show off how they learn. The diversity of students encourages the broadening of your own world view. A wide range of courses, allowing for study into incredibly specific topics. The main issue with the university is the wait time for wellbeing appointments, as it can take up to four months to even get a foot in the door. This means that if you do need help, it is very difficult to achieve. Also, while it isn't the university's fault, it is important to know that the First Bus system is not very reliable, so if you have a job in town, it is quite nerve-wracking.

University of Greenwich is a commendable place to study, not only due to its historical literature, but also for its modern modifications for accommodating the requirements of the students and staff. The faculties who teach us are amazing in their fields, and at the same time have years of experience that they share with us. My favorite thing about my university is the fact that studying there comes with scenic beauty. There is the Thames on one side, the Queen's House on the other, the huge Cutty Sark Ship on one end, and the beautiful and cozy town of Greenwich.

School has been hard obviously but my tutors really care about us, they make sure that we understand everything that we've learnt. They take the time to help us through tutorials so overall as hard as this year has been I do think it has been a pretty good experience thanks to my tutors.

The support is overwhelmingly good. Plus the diversity of backgrounds make it a home for all irrespective of religion or orientation. Sometimes I feel like I should study a course that will take me more years to complete

Buckinghamshire New University is a great place to study with its supportive lecturers, friendly staff, and inclusive learning environment. The atmosphere on campus encourages both personal and academic growth, and the university truly values student well-being. One area that could be improved is by helping students form cultural communities for example Asian or other international groups and encouraging them to plan events together. This would create a stronger sense of belongingness, help students connect across cultures, and reduce feelings of homesickness among international students.
