Too much reliance on technology I know this is standard but there should be a little more wiggle room for those who despise using laptops and other technology or struggle to use it as it kills work ethic

WIFI is absolutely awful and there are many dead zones around campus. How can a top-level engineering university provide such poor internet connection, especially when all of our assignments are internet based and due online? I am constantly searching for places around campus with any useable connection and the VPN speeds when you're off campus are just unusable. It's the year 2024. How have we not figured this out yet? It's absolutely unaccusable. You have the money to build an entire new campus, but can't fix the internet at your main campus? Awful.

I love my degree. The lecturers are fantastic, knowledgeable and supportive. I love my subject and the freedom this course gives me to explore it. The block learning structure makes assessments more manageable. The assessments are often really open ended, allowing for you to research and write about your interests. It's really helped me to realise exactly what career path I want to follow. Theyre always advertising internships and paid work opportunities in a variety of fields and they provide plenty of opportunities for CPD for free. They have lots of services such as the careers team and 121 library support which are fantastic. UOS isn't much of a party school- Ipswich has an awful nightlife. It's definitely a different experience to some of the bigger unis, but I've met some awesome people of all ages and backgrounds. I would recommend this course, definitely!

Firstly the university environment is so neat and quiet everytime to study. Great facilities has been provided by the university to make our studying easy and less hard and by also providing us with a support System called CASE to help us out in any difficulties in our studies

The teachers are amazing at supporting us, and providing advice. Learning support is an incredibly helpful opportunity we are given to get extra support with academic writing. We find out the school that we will be placed at for placement with very little preparation time, it would be better to find out further in advance.

One of the best aspects of university life has been the support I’ve received in helping me transition smoothly, especially as someone with autism. The university has provided excellent guidance, understanding staff, and accessible services that have made adapting to new routines and social environments much easier. I’ve also appreciated the opportunity to build independence and develop confidence in managing my own studies and schedule. However, one downside has been the food on campus, which often lacks variety and quality. This can make it harder to maintain a consistent and enjoyable diet, especially when sensory preferences are a factor. Overall, the support systems have made a huge positive difference in my university experience, even if the catering could definitely be improved. Being part of the girls’ football team has been one of the most positive and enjoyable parts of my university experience. It’s given me a great way to meet new people, build friendships, and feel part of a supportive community. Playing regularly has not only helped me stay active but has also boosted my confidence and social skills. As someone with autism, joining a team where everyone is encouraging and understanding has made a big difference. it’s helped me feel more comfortable in social settings and given me a real sense of belonging at university.

I attended this university for my undergraduate degree over a decade ago, and I cherished my experience then just as much as I do now. Currently, I find myself in a different phase of life as a mature student with a young family. Nevertheless, I believe that the student experience and facilities continue to meet my needs, even as they differ from those I had during my undergraduate studies. Across all campuses, the staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The environment is clean and well-maintained, fostering a strong sense of pride among both students and staff. Overall, the university feels safe and inclusive. I wouldn't say there is a worst aspect of my university experience, as I feel it meets my expectations at this stage in my career and life.

The best aspects is the facilties and resources. They do really make it fun to study. The worst aspects has to be the location. The current campus I am in is further from the main campuses and it's located behind a number of houses.
