I’ve done my undergrad and my postgrad at Swansea university - starting my degree during the height of Covid made my first 2 years of my course a bit disappointing as I got to miss out on a lot of typical student activities. The first two years I didn’t feel like a student at all. It was difficult situation to cope with as everything was online. The last year of my undergrad was amazing! The psychology department were really hands on in making sure we all were comfortable and prepared for our assignments and our first in person exams. My last year of my undergrad was probably the best experience as I was making up for lost time from my first two years as it was all online. Now starting my postgrad here and I am still enjoying studying here. The only downfalls I would say would be I wouldn’t say I feel like a ‘’student’’ - I feel like I just come to class and go home. It may sound silly but there doesn’t seem to be a community feeling - well at least not to me! I would say alot of student activities are hugely based around drinking (which I know is a typical student activity) but it’s difficult for people who don’t drink. I know the student union puts on other actitvies such as paint a mug sessions but it is difficult when they happen on the same day of the week as other students have lessons during this time.

Now that my post grad course is all in person I feel I’m learning so much more! My lectures are really engaging and the content is digestible. I feel like my current lecturers are really invested in my learning and are passionate about it which makes me feel more motivated.
