This university has helped me grow as a person and become more independent, I have made some great friends and the lectures are brilliant. I love the campus and its facilities. Going to university at Bishop Grosseteste has been on the highlights of my life. I did not attend school much as a child, it wasn't until I became a parent that I realised I needed to doing something about my education, I went back to college at age 24 and now at the age of 28 I am in my final year of university. Its been a roller-coaster of emotions and I've had the best time whilst learning.

During lock down it was difficult to have online meetings and do assignments at home with my child off school. However, the lectures helped me so such and supported me through the hard times. Once I went back to class which was scary for me after the covid restrictions were lifted, my lectures helped me with my anxiety and put my mind at rest. I love in class lessons as I get to know my study buddies and lectures better, we enjoy our time together, the hours and days suit me well as I am a single parent it is difficult with out of school childcare as it takes me an hour to drive home after university so I have had no problems.

I drive an hour to university and an hour back, it is difficult to budget as a single parent when I need to pay for my car and fuel etc, but overall the university has programmes to help manage and budget money.

University has been difficult this year. My course has been halved with us having 4 hours of lectures per week from the already small 8 hours. We have not had placement which we were all looking forward to. I have also felt the teachers could have done more- checked in with each course member rather than leave us to get to breaking point and contacting them. I have also got lower grades with poor explanations as to why.
