NTU has provided a deeply supportive, exciting and positive experience for me. The lecturers on my course have approached my course with consistent, genuine and thorough care and knowledge for the course subject, and as a student who came knowing nothing about animation, I have now produced 2 short films with another in production. The student union, course reps and school officers provide ample opportunity for student voices to be heard, and enact the change you want to see - I myself have been a course reps for the 3 years I have attended NTU, and have seen the hard work that goes into making real change is made. I feel we have a robust system of care and support for students needing additional physical or mental (like myself) support. Though my time here is drawing to a close, I feel I have gained so much; a stronger sense of identity, confidence and capability. I love the independence and responsibility that going to NTU has enhanced for me, and I hope others can experience this. 10/10 would rate.

I feel like there’s a lot of things to do in the area, which is great for making friends. I also think the library is really handy to have, especially since it’s also open 24/7 it can be a safe place to go to. The main struggle would probably be finding somewhere to stay. Nottingham has two universities so it’s really competitive when it comes to housing.

The course overall is very well done. I like how we explore all aspects of the animation industry. The teachers give us a lot of opportunities to learn things they may not be able to fit all in lesson time too. I only wish the building with the wacoms was open more on weekends, because animation is something you can’t really do at home since a lot of people won’t have the software.
