Tell us about your overall college experience so far.

Very memorable, happy and fulfilling! I’ve met some amazing people and best friends while studying at Brooksby for 5 years, I stayed for so long because I didn’t want to leave and wanted to carry on studying there. I would 100% recommend.

Facilities

How good are your college's facilities?

The Equestrian Centre facilities are excellent with an 2x indoor schools, 2x outdoor schools, hydrotherapy Centre (aqua treadmill + solarium), Walker, cross country course and DIY livery.

Student support

How good is the support offered by the college? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).

Second to none... The tutors are always there no matter the nature of your problem. There is always help if you need it.

Students' union

What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?

The students union was on the smaller side, but the people involved were dedicated to making a difference for the students at Brooksby Melton College and that every students voice was heard.

Local life

Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?

Not so great due to the location being so far away, the closest city is Leicester and the closest town is Melton. This does make social/night life more difficult. But that is to be expected when you go to a rural campus!

Societies and Sports

How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?

There are a wide variety of clubs/societies depending on which course you are on.

Lecturers and teaching quality

What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?

The best thing about the course was that it was tailored to the students, the lecturers were 100% dedicated to delivering the best standards of teaching. They genuinely cared about how we were learning, what we were learning and making sure that the content was relevant to what we needed to know.

Career prospects

How does your college make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?

There are many modules in which you have to undertake work experience, this is an excellent opportunity to get a taster of the work industry and what to expect from working in the equine industry. It really does prepare you for the future.
