The uni itself is beautiful and right in the city centre, there is lots to do around Nottingham and it is relatively cheap compared to other areas. Lively food scene and nightlife, and there are lots of parks and other activities in or near the city centre. Support from my tutor and course leaders has been perfect, my one complaint would be the lack of support regarding mental health. My tutor and course leaders have been extremely accommodating and attentive to the needs of disabled or mentally ill students, and counselling is available within the student union, however it is limited to 6 sessions and has a very long waitlist, taking (in my experience) 6 months to get an initial assessment. However, I have made so many friends and received support from both them, and the staff on my course. Would absolutely recommend NTU!

My lessons take place entirely in person, which is great for making friends and makes it much easier to receive support and guidance with my learning. My course is 100% coursework (mainly group work) with no exams. I have found the variety of content within my course to be very satisfactory, with a range of learning throughout sound design and recording, editing, cameras, lighting, and pre-production work. I have had the opportunity to experience all roles within creating and producing a film, allowing me to learn what I am best at and what I enjoy the most, and my tutors have been very attentive to what students enjoy and excel at the most, guiding us to learn more in roles we are most interested in.

Good wifi and staff, but in an unsafe area and a 20 minute, entirely uphill walk to the uni and city centre. The halls themselves have 24/7 security and reception, so when inside the halls it is definitely very safe. Extortionate price for tiny rooms with barely any room to stand up, and the heating is only able to be used for 2 months out of the year.

As a first-year student at Nottingham Trent University (NTU), I can confidently say that my experience has been nothing short of amazing. The university has an incredible atmosphere, and the learning experience in Mechanical Engineering has exceeded all my expectations. From day one, the campus has felt like a place where I can truly grow, both academically and personally. Being at NTU has shown me that university is not just about academics but about making the most of every opportunity. Whether it’s learning new skills, collaborating with peers, or simply enjoying student life, there’s so much to do and experience.

Mechanical Engineering at NTU is genuinely fun and engaging. The curriculum is both challenging and rewarding, with plenty of hands-on projects and real-world applications. The lecturers are passionate about their subjects and are always willing to help and provide guidance. The combination of theory and practical work keeps things exciting and ensures that we, as students, are always learning in a way that’s meaningful. The practical lab sessions are where the real fun begins – whether it's experimenting with machines, building prototypes, or testing designs, it’s an experience that brings the subject to life.

I’ve had the pleasure of staying at Vantage Accommodation in Nottingham, and I can honestly say it’s been a fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, it’s been clear that Vantage offers a high standard of student living, combining comfort, convenience, and modern amenities. One of the standout features of Vantage is the location. It's situated in a great area, close to Nottingham Trent University and the city center, which makes getting to lectures, shops, restaurants, and bars incredibly easy. Whether I’m heading to class or enjoying some downtime, everything is within walking distance, which is so convenient for a busy student lifestyle. The accommodation itself is top-notch. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-designed, with plenty of natural light. Each room comes equipped with everything you need: a comfy bed, study desk, wardrobe, and storage space. The kitchens are modern and fully equipped, making it easy to cook meals. It’s also great to have en-suite bathrooms, which provide a nice level of privacy and convenience.
