Student support - academic and social support by each an every member of the university. Makes you feel at home - a massive positive for young people transitioning to higher education. Quality teaching tailored around employability skills and students career aspirations. Tried and tested teaching and learning approaches which promote inclusive environment. Great location with all major supermarkets and sports facilities. Good rail connection to anywhere in the United Kingdom.. Walking around the teaching and learning spaces, I can see a lot of work being done to upgrade these spaces in other areas of the campus. The library is a great resource for learning. I would like to mention that computers need upgrading so that they are much faster and have enough space for students to save their work. Orientation week at the start of the academic year is a great way to learn more about services and facilities at Glyndwr but mature students appear to be left out as it seems they don't tend to be available at open days. I suggest that during the first teaching week, one lesson is dedicated to introducing students to the university and the facilities. The other day I was having a problem connecting to learning skills session on Teams at B Block. I went out to see if I can find someone to help me. A very supportive member of staff came over to see what the problem was and this member of staff recommended that we try a different location. Beehive was recommended and off we went. It was the first time I've heard or seen this facility. It really wowed me. This member of staff remained with me until I was connected to the Teams meeting. Not only did the great customer service excellence end here, when I had joined the Teams meeting, halfway through the session, I had an opportunity to ask a question. The staff delivering the session went over everything I've missed briefly and assured me the session is recorded so I can access it to practice how to use Refworks database to build my Reference List. I found this level of support remarkable and outstanding. That's why I am giving 4 out 5 overall. For student support in particular, my rating is definitely 5 out 5, making it 100%. Health and Safety is a concern. I was walking towards the library in front of the new houses. A family who had bought one of the houses stopped me and asked me to be careful because there are some permanent small structurers like drains raised on the pavement that may cause tripping and falling. The family also asked me to be careful when I cross over to the library because the kerbs were high. I thanked the family for the piece of information. It was already dark and I wouldn't have known about the raised kerb. I would like the university to take this up with Edward Homes, the property developer. I honestly believe the university is not aware of this and that's why I am mentioning it.

My teacher training is both synchronous and asynchronous. I find this working for me because I am able to balance by academic work, teaching practice and family life. The quality of teaching and learning is great. As well as going for classes and prioritising coursework and teaching practice, I sometimes find that I am not coping. At the moment I am not able to come up with a solution to help me cope with competing priorities. I think it is an issue which needs exploring by the teaching team and the students themselves. My suggestion is that time could be allocated to teaching practice to allow focus, reflection and deeper learning to share and demonstrate when returning for classes. I know that this suggestion may cause other problems. So, it is a difficult one to be honest.

The location is great. The city centre needs revamping to make it attractive to students.

I would not fault anything with the facilities. Everything is right and the environment is conducive to learning. The WiFi connection is great. The location is within reach of the campus facilities and sports halls. Walking to the train and bus stations is within a walking distance. The halls are a great location. When you are in a rush to get something at the city centre, there's no regular public transport to get you there on time unless you get a taxi. There is a bus stop just outside the university but the service from there to the city centre can be anything like waiting one hour. I was waiting with other people because I was running late to catch a bus to another town. We checked the bus company App to see how long until the bus was at the stop. It said four minutes. We waited forty five minutes and we started walking to town. I know local transport issues are the responsibility of the local council but I think the Student Union may have to look into it and engage with the Council.

I don't really access the student union but the student support has been helpful

I like the way the course is taught face to face and some online learning. The balance is just right and the hours in University are good.
