Best is the tutors/lecturers are fantastically supportive. I'm yet to have a bad experience and hope not to.

As a mature student returning to academia after a long break I was concerned about how I would "fit in" at University. I started my undergrad degree at the University of Bolton in 2019 and have never looked back. I am now training to be a teacher in my subject specialism and currently applying for a Masters too. I would highly recommend Bolton as it is very friendly and student centred. We are names not numbers. I have found all the staff to be knowledgeable, approachable and willing to help wherever they can. It must also be highlighted about the extra effort the university put in through Covid. Unlike some of the other universities, Bolton were quick to offer online learning backed up by fantastic pastoral support, safety measures such as airport type scanners to be able to facilitate on campus learning as soon as restrictions were lifted, and a cycle to campus scheme lending bicycles for those who lived close enough to use them instead of public transport. There have also been free hot food schemes to help students through the cost of living crisis. The student union is proactive and there are plenty of activities to get involved with. In my opinion it is hard to think of any areas for improvement. The worst aspect for me was not being allowed on campus because of Covid!

I am currently studying on my second course at the University of Bolton as I enjoyed my undergrad course so much and loved being at Bolton...I didn't want to leave! My experience of both courses has been favourable. The content has been challenging, interesting and relevant. I have experienced online tuition through the Covid pandemic and I do believe it was well executed by lecturers who were very suddenly thrust into changing their lectures to suit. Personally I prefer to be on campus working collaboratively with my peers. However now there is the technology in place for blended learning there are some aspects such as tutorials that are online. Feedback on assignments is timely and staff will make time for more in depth feedback/support if necessary. Contact with tutors is good, and although there they are given two days to reply to emails, in my experience they usually respond more quickly...they do need a life though! As it is a friendly campus staff are approachable and will, assuming they are not rushing of to lectures or meetings, stop to talk.
