Tell us about your overall university experience so far.

University has been the best experience ever! I’ve made so many new friends and become completely independent. I’m only in my second year but I’d like to say I’m doing well in my course. I was really against university due to the worry of all this debt but once that was properly explained to me I decided to give it a chance and I’m so glad I did. I love how homely Worcester feels aswell, it’s like a home from home.

Facilities

How good are your university's facilities?

The university can facilitate for everything. There is always new changes and they are comfortable with changing things to suit the students. Our course rep always asks us if we have any issues with anything and it always gets put forward.

Student support

How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).

I have 3 meetings a year with my tutor which is very good and she is extremely supportive. I get regular feedback on my work which reassures I’m going in the right direction. And I know if I was having issues with money or with my house mates that I could go to Student services and find someone to call or email.

Students' union

What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?

Students union has everything you need and is the place I’d go to find out information on something student representation or facility related. They have lots of display boards with information on aswell as contact details.

Local life

Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?

From the university it’s only a 15 minute walk to get into town which has a variety of bars, restaurants, shops, gyms... Aldi is also only 10 minute walk from the university which is useful if you don’t drive.

Societies and Sports

How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?

There are loads of societies and such a wide range of them. I’m personally not part of a society anymore but they are great fun and a good way to meet new people. A lot of effort is put into them.

Lecturers and teaching quality

What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?

I do dislike how all my lectures are in the morning, it would be nice to have a variety. There is a good variety of lecturers though aswell as flexibility. Lecturers always ask for our opinion on how there teaching is going which is nice that they take our opinion into account.

How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?

I always have jobs emailed to me from course leaders on my course. Which could be useful for someone who maybe doesn’t have the time to look or might not know where to search.
