Everything is within walking distance and easily accessible. However some of the older buildings can be really hard to navigate.

The strongest part of my experience at Newcastle University has been the overall academic and student support. Lecturers and demonstrators are approachable and willing to spend extra time explaining concepts, especially during practical classes and office hours, which has made learning more engaging and less intimidating. The course structure encourages independent thinking while still providing guidance, helping me build confidence in my subject. The campus environment is another major highlight. Everything is centrally located, making it easy to balance lectures, labs, studying, and social life. Newcastle itself is a very student-friendly city affordable, welcoming, and vibrant which has made settling in much easier. There are also plenty of opportunities to get involved in societies, volunteering, and skills-building activities, which has helped me feel part of a strong student community and develop personally as well as academically.

Student union could be a more social space, but the overall uni life is amazing. Great lecturers. Love how close campus is to everything. Affordable housing.

The online resources are good and there are plenty wellbeing resources and a good careers service. However, lectures can be boring and not very engaging.

Good city, lots to do, but not too large, good facilities and helpful lecturers. The uni has loads of computers and printers, handy for last minute coursework! And the library even helps out with that, as it's open 24/7 with student support. Everything is on campus with different buildings in walking distances, even the architecture is beautiful! Plenty of shops to see, ranging from the popular ones to the quirkiest! Great food venues, including The Gate, an indoor facility full of restaurants, casino and the cinema. There's something for everyone!
