An online work-based learning degree, for professionals currently employed in the Children's workforce, offering the opportunity to study for a degree whilst continuing to work.

Are you a professional in the children's workforce who wants to progress further in your career? Do you want the flexibility of online learning? This innovative, online course offers a springboard for your future career ambitions, enabling you to continue to influence the lives of children and young people. You will apply theory to practice, reflect on your current role and develop your academic skills. Working alongside students from other children's workforce contexts, you will share your expertise, learn from others, and develop a secure understanding of the sector, enabling you to advance your career confidently and knowledgeably.

The University of Chester's BA (Hons) Working with Children, Young People and Families (WBIS) course is unique in offering professionals in the children's workforce the opportunity to combine study alongside your current workplace commitments. As a fully online degree, you will have the flexibility to study the course full or part time, enabling you to earn whilst you learn.You will have access to all of the support services available to University of Chester students, including academic skills support, library access, wellbeing services and disability and inclusion support. You will also be allocated a personal academic tutor who will guide you through your studies.The course is delivered via recorded live lectures, combined with independent online study material, carefully designed to offer opportunities for engagement, interaction, and self-reflection. There will be frequent occasions throughout the degree for you to interact with your peers and your course tutors, using online forums, and Microsoft Teams. In addition to the benefits offered by our online delivery, you will have the opportunity to work alongside professionals from many different sectors of the children's workforce, sharing expertise and learning from each other's experiences.
