Explore how children, families and their communities are impacted by the way society is structured, and understand the role you can play in supporting them through times of change and crisis. With the support of our highly respected academics, and using a trauma-informed approach, you’ll use real-life issues – like digital communications, abuse, and poverty – to gain the key skills needed to enhance outcomes for children and families. Train in safeguarding and Portage, study for an accredited Forest School certification, and broaden your experience through industry events and professional placements both in the UK and abroad.

Preparing you with the in-demand skills employers in the sector need, you’ll be ready for future career success working with children and young people. Many graduates choose to specialise in education, health or social care support work, or look to roles in the private, voluntary, health or maintained sectors. Your graduate opportunities will be varied, including roles like education welfare officer, special school teaching assistant, family support officer, home education assistant, hospital nursery leader, and independent support practitioner.
