You'll learn how to explore and validate how users experience technology in their everyday lives, and how to optimise the fit between human needs and the technologies they use or are required to use. The course blends insights from human factors, computing, and design to help you develop user-centred, inclusive and effective solutions. Key themes include human capabilities, technological constraints, and the business, legal and social factors that shape how new technologies are created and adopted. You'll also engage critically with issues such as data ownership and intellectual property, algorithmic bias and decision-making, privacy, security, trust, and the balance between corporate and societal responsibilities.
