If you have a passion for theatre and would like to learn how to bring your ideas to life on stage, Brunels Theatre course will equip you with specialist skills in a range of performance genres. It will also ground you academically in history and theory, enabling you to become a well-rounded, adaptable artist and critical thinker. Providing the perfect balance between theory and practice, youll be taught by industry and academic experts in our purpose-built Antonin Artaud Performance Centre. The course has compulsory modules and numerous optional modules that you can choose from within the Theatre degree. You can opt for a wide selection of modules on the main Theatre degree or focus your studies through a specialised degree pathway in Acting, Musical Theatre or Physical Theatre.Careers and your futureA Theatre degree will help prepare you to become an adaptable, critically driven, creative player in an ever- shifting economic climate. We not only encourage our students to be versatile creative artists but critically thinking citizens who are resilient in the world of work.There are options for a short or a year-long work placement to develop your professional profile while on the course. To find the industry placement thats right for you, you will be supported throughout the process.While some graduates go on to work in the creative industries such as actor Damson Idris (2013), deputy stage manager of Shakespeares Globe Alannagh Cook (2015) and Les Enfant Terribles Assistant Producer Fiona Porritt (2015), other graduates enter the marketing sector, the education or applied drama sector, and some students pursue opportunities in postgraduate study and training.
