This Theatre, Performance and Critical Culture MA allows you to study at the heart of London’s Theatreland. You’ll be introduced to various theatre and performance theories, from contemporary theatres and live art performances to avant-garde dramas and political interventions site-specific events, choreographies and compositions and the world of cultural tourism and West End spectacles. During this master’s in Theatre, Performance and Critical Culture, you’ll explore the impact of society, both specific to theatre histories and ongoing wider political agency, focusing on social movements such as Black Lives Matter, MeToo and the climate emergency. You’ll also get to shape your curriculum with optional modules, including the performance-research-based Performance Lab in the specially restored Anatomy Museum & Theatre on the Strand.
A minimum 2:1 undergraduate Bachelors (honours) degree. If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip).
