We have outstanding facilities in the field of Text/Image Studies, from the holdings of Glasgow University Library, including the Stirling Maxwell Collection, and The Hunterian, to an environment that includes world-leading publications and journals, the hosting of conferences, and exhibition curation. The PhD in Text/Image Studies allows research in any area that interacts pictures with words. Examples include the study of: Renaissance emblem books, contextualised photography, the culture of comics and the graphic novel. As a Text/Image scholar in Glasgow you will work under the aegis of the . You will be part of a vibrant community of students and visiting scholars from around the world with numerous seminars, reading groups and social support events. Our College of Arts Graduate School creates a productive and interdisciplinary collegiate environment for all of our research students. We offer a range of services, courses and skills development opportunities for research students. The College of Arts is home to a vibrant and diverse community of students enrolled on taught masters and research programmes within a stimulating intellectual and cultural environment.
