Find your path into the visual journalism industry with our unique Television Journalism MA. You will learn practical skills and develop vital knowledge from seasoned professionals and through work placements. We will teach you how to find, research, develop, write, shoot and edit visual stories for short and long form platforms including social videos, TV and digital news and documentaries. You will learn practical multimedia skills through weekly news days. Working as producer, presenter, correspondent, or director to create a half-hour studio programme with live reports and self-shot packages and accompanying social and digital content. We will equip you with the skills to originate, develop, script, film and edit a 28-minute documentary, with powerful visual sequences. You will learn how to work legally and ethically, but with a strong creative visual flair. Your coursework will involve journalistic assignments produced to a deadline, as you would work in a real news organisation. You will learn practical and core journalism skills in groups of 15 and upwards through lectures, workshops and broadcast-simulated news days. Some modules are held in lecture theatres but most are small-group workshops allowing you to develop journalistic skills and knowledge. The course is delivered by a wide range of professionals in their field who have worked across the industry.
