The programme draws on our established teaching and research expertise in IT law, e-commerce law, telecommunications law, computer law and media law. You will examine the complex issues concerning national and international law, while exploring current and developing policies. You’ll learn to identify gaps, conflicts and compliance issues and develop expertise in the legal regimes governing the supply and use of technology, media and telecommunications.
You have the option to attend the annual Residential Weekend for Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law Online Learning students, giving you the chance to network with staff, alumni and fellow students.
The flexible nature of this programme allows you the full benefits of studying for a recognised UK university qualification whilst still in full-time employment. You will be taught to apply your learning and expertise to your professional work straight away, helping you to further your career.
Successful progression in the programme can qualify you to upgrade to the Diploma or the LLM.
Qualifications Earned
You will receive either an LLM in Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law, or a Postgraduate Diploma or a Postgraduate Certificate from Queen Mary University of London.
Your degree certificate will make no distinction between a qualification studied by presence in London and a qualification studied by distance learning.
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s honours degree in Law (2.1 or above), or equivalent legal qualifications. Law graduates with 2.2 honours who also have other legal qualifications and/or substantial professional legal experience may also qualify. Applicants for the programme for non law graduates should hold a Bachelor’s honours degree (2.1) in any area relevant to the Technology, Media and Telecommunications field or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard.
